Pronunciations

Basic Meaning: Entering the First Chapter of the Dharma-Gate of the Great Perfection of Wisdom Sutra According to the Meaning of the Discourse on the Middle Way

Senses:

  • The Shunzhonglun yiru da bore boluomi jing chupin famen. T 1565. A sutra commentary that is listed in the Chinese canon in accordance with a translation colophon 翻譯之記 by Tanlin 曇林 as being authored by Asaṅga 無着 as the commentary to a work by Nāgârjuna 龍樹, being translated into Chinese by translated by Vimuktisena 毘目智仙1 and Gautamaprajñāruci 瞿曇般若流支.of the Northern Wei 北魏 Dynasty. The text has been taken by previous scholarship as commenting on the on the *Madhyamaka-śāstra 中論 T 1564. However, Ōtake argues that the commentary is in fact the work of Vasubandhu 世親, and takes it as a commentary on the topics of the Prajñāpāramitā-sūtra (in other words, as a kind of abridgement or précis).2 Translated into modern Japanese, with accompanying study, in Ōtake (2013): 350–464. Title is abbreviated as 順中論.
