Basic Meaning: Longquan Chan monastery
Senses:
Longquanchansi. A Chan monastery located in the Gushan 鼓山 district, Gaoxiong 高雄 city, Taiwan, built in 1923. The first abbot was a Japanese monk named Tōkai Norimasa 東海宜誠.In 1945, Master Longdao 隆道法師 succeeded the position, and gradually built many new buildings. The five story Cishou 慈壽塔 tower covers an area of two hundred and fifty ping 坪, and can contain more than forty thousand relics. There is a natural stone statue of Avalokitêśvara 觀音 in the 圓通寶殿. In 1978, They began to set up a Dharma banner, administering the thousand buddhas' full set of precepts 千佛三壇大戒 for transmitting the vinaya teachings. [Charles Muller; source(s): FGD]
