Jeffrey Kotyk

Jeffrey Kotyk, who has an M.A. in Buddhist Studies from Komazawa University, is now in the PhD program at Leiden University. In the past he worked as a translator for Dharma Drum Mountain, focusing on the works of the late Chan Master Sheng Yen, during which time he added terms to the DDB and CJKV-E that dealt with the bodhisattva precepts in East Asia, Chinese history, and Sanlun philosophy. His dissertation focuses on the study of Buddhist astrological texts, and he has been adding a large amount of previously unavailable terminology from that area. [2017-6-28]
