view-based [mental] activity
- This constitutes one of two broad categories for human activity, referring to activity based on cognitive apprehension, rather than on affective considerations, which are called 愛行. Despite the myriad distinctions between sentient beings, in a broad sense, their activities do not fall outside of these two types. Furthermore, the character 行 is commonly used to refer to conditioned factors 有爲法, giving the connotations of afflictive factors such as the five views 五見, sixty-two views 六十二見 and so forth. Also listed under 愛行見行 and 見二行. 〔大智度論 T 1509.25.215a16〕 (Skt. dṛṣṭi-carita, āśraya) [resp. Charles Muller; source(s): Nakamura, FGD, Hirakawa]
- Wrong views and deeds (Skt. dṛṣṭi-kṛta). 〔正法華經 T 263.9.73c21〕 (matter of heresy); (Skt. dṛṣṭi-gata); translated by Kumārajīva as 邪見 〔法華經 T 262.9.11a12〕. [resp. Seishi Karashima]
