- "Observing the Mind, Awakening from the Dream," by the Japanese Hossō monk Ryōhen 良遍 around 1244. 3 fasc. in 13 chapters; T 2312.71.61-89. Written to provide a short summary of Yogâcāra doctrines, based primarily on the Cheng weishi lun 成唯識論. In addition to summarizing important Yogâcāra concepts, this work also makes comparisons with the competing Kegon and Tendai schools. It became one of most popular works for the study and exposition of Hossō (Yogâcāra) teachings in Japan—down to the modern day, where it is often utilized by Hossō specialists as a teaching resource.
