to change
- To alter, transmute, transform, evolve; to become something different (Skt. pariṇāma). One of the most fundamental concepts for understanding the Buddhist view of the nature of existence, especially as articulated in the Yogâcāra system, wherein all phenomena are regarded as the transformations of consciousness. In this system, there are two distinct connotations of transformer 能變 and that which is transformed 所變. In this sense often expressed with the compound word 轉變, or with 轉 alone. [resp.
